Day 22: “Repentance Neutralizes the Odor of Sin”

🌙 Ramadan Reminders: Day 2⃣2⃣ 🌙
“ Fragrance of Tawbah”

If we all emanated smells 👃🏼from the sins we committed, our odors 😕would be unbearable. So much so, that a great scholar once said that even He would fear 🙈that others would not want to sit by him.

Our human nature is inclined to certain desires💑, needs or wants🎮…. whether they are halal or haram. The difference is between a person who does not care they are basking in filth and tainting their 🎭profile with the sins they accumulate and one who recognizes that sin, and cleanses🛀🏼 it by seeking 🙏🏻forgiveness then perfuming themselves with tawbah.

But what is ❇Tawbah? توبة is derived from the work “Taaba” تابة which means 🔄”returned back”. Thus, tawbah means turning 🔰back in repentance. It means that one feels regret 🚫and filled with remorse for their sins, turns to Allah with the intention to obey Him. They may pray 2 rakah’s to Allah, bearing their 💓heart and genuine regret to Him, making dua during or after salah.

Allah commands us to turn back to him:
O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens 🌲🌳under which rivers flow 🌊(Paradise) the Day that Allah will not disgrace the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and those who believe with him, their Light 💫will run forward before them and with (their Records Books of deeds) in their right hands they will say: “Our Lord! Keep perfect our Light ✨for us [and do not put it off till we cross over the Sirat (a slippery bridge 🌉over the Hell) safely] and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things .” (66:8)

Sometimes it is not an easy path!

It was said to Al-Hassan (رضي الله عنه), the Prophet’s grandson, “Isn’t the servant [of Allah] ashamed of sinning and then repenting, and then sinning again and then again repenting?”

Al-Hassan said: “This is what Satan exactly 👹wants! Never stop making repentance.”

For us who have fallen into 👿sins, no matter how deep 🍻or 📈great, do not despair from the mercy of your Lord. Remember the Mercy 🌿of Allah is much greater 🌍and more 🌊vast than any 📛sin!.
