โ Deception of the Dunya โ
Look at the serene picture above.
Imagine you are overlooking this majestic scene ๐of calm ocean water….a sea of blue, under a clear โbeautiful sky.
And then within a couple of minutes the the sky turns a murky gray, clouds begin to cluster the wind changes ๐จand the peaceful ocean is now a raging ๐beast, a cacophony of crashing waves.
The ocean is like the ๐dunya. Its deception that everything is going alright, sometimes almost near perfection ๐until the storm looms in โกand everything comes crashing down.
What did the prophet (saw) in his last sermon fear for his companions after his death?
“ุงููุง ุงููุงุณ ูุงููู ู
ุง ุงูููุฑ ุงุฎุดู ุนูููู

”
“O’People. By Allah I do not fear that poverty might befall you but I fear that you might be affected by the dunya. If you compete with one another in it like the people before you then surely you will be destroyed like they were!”
Why is this dunya a mirage?
Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, โParadise โฒis surrounded by ๐งadversity, and Hellfire ๐is surrounded by ๐ธlusts.โ

What is this dunya worth?
The Prophet s.a.w. was walking with his companions when they saw a dead ๐sheep carcass, and He said: “Do you not see how this is worth nothing now to its (previous) owners? ๐ธThey replied. “Yes. ” He (saw) then said, “By Allah this world is more worthless to Allah than this dead carcass is to its ownersโ
The Propher taught us a Dua to help keep us on track:

O’Allah do not make this world our biggest concern nor the limit of knowledge nor our entry to hellfire. And make paradise our abode and residence.
